Police Accountability Board Implements Legal Files Management System

“With Legal Files, we are taking a major step toward modernizing our processes and enhancing our ability to support law enforcement reform.

Legal Files Software, Inc. is pleased to announce that the Police Accountability Board (PAB) of Prince George’s County, Maryland, has recently implemented the Legal Files Case and Document Management System to enhance its ability to manage and track complaints of police misconduct. The PAB, which plays a critical role in reviewing and making policy recommendations related to law enforcement accountability in the county, had been relying on Excel spreadsheets for case management but is now leveraging the robust capabilities of Legal Files to streamline operations, improve data management and enhance reporting.

The PAB’s primary responsibilities include receiving complaints of police misconduct from members of the public, referring them to the appropriate law enforcement agency for investigation, reviewing the disciplinary outcomes of those investigations and identifying trends to make policy recommendations.

“With Legal Files, we are taking a major step toward modernizing our processes and enhancing our ability to support law enforcement reform,” Ebony Rorls, Program Administrator for the Police Accountability Board, said. “We are excited to begin using Legal Files to more efficiently manage complaints and improve the overall workflow,” she said. “The software will allow us to track complaints and outcomes more effectively and will ultimately provide us with the robust reporting tools necessary to identify trends and make data-driven recommendations for improving police accountability.”

Legal Files Software, Inc. provided a comprehensive suite of services to the PAB, including project management sessions, training for both administrators and end users, and custom configuration assistance. This successful implementation of Legal Files at the PAB follows the system’s adoption by other Prince George’s County agencies, including the ACC and the Fire/EMS Department, demonstrating the software’s versatility and value across different governmental functions.

“We are proud to support the Police Accountability Board in their important work and help them modernize their operations,” Legal Files Director of Sales Gordon Hack said. “By providing tailored solutions and continuous support, we are confident that Legal Files will help the PAB fulfill its mission of enhancing transparency and accountability in policing in Prince George’s County.”
