“Legal Files helped configure the system just for us, uniquely to our specifications.”
HireRight, the world’s largest provider of background check services, has implemented Legal Files, the popular law case management system for its corporate legal team. The solution’s developer Legal Files Litigation Tracker Software, Inc. made the announcement today. HireRight’s legal team members, who are in multiple locations across the country, are primarily using Legal Files to manage and track a wide range of matters, including litigation holds, client bankruptcies, collections and other matter types.
“Legal Files helped configure the system just for us, uniquely to our specifications,” Vice President and Deputy General Counsel Stephanie Morgan said. “As an example, we were trying to use simple Excel spreadsheets to track legal spend data for litigation. Using Legal Files’ built-in tools, we were able to build detailed windows to automatically track the invoice specifics we need for reporting. Thanks to Legal Files, we are able to keep a better eye on expenses and keep our legal spend in line.”
In addition to tracking litigation that come into the department, Legal Files also allows the team to “tag” items with different variables, such as exposure level, forum and involved parties, which then provides the ability to search on those custom tags across multiple files, she said. “Legal Files helps us save so much time when we need to locate key information.”
Morgan also noted that Legal Files provides the added benefit of a status, task and deadline tracking. “When a matter comes in, it’s opened in Legal Files, which creates a centralized location where all team members can store and view status notes and to-do’s. That way, everyone easily knows what’s going on and can see what needs to be done next. It’s a game changer.”
