“Legal Files’ ability to grant each department secure access to their assigned files has proven immensely beneficial, streamlining operations for both them and us, especially when working on shared files.”
Legal Files Software, Inc. today announced that the legal department for the City of Mentor, Ohio, has implemented the company’s namesake product as its case and matter management solution. The City of Mentor joins numerous federal, tribal, state, county and municipal governments which have chosen Legal Files to enhance legal operations and improve workflow management.
Prior to Legal Files, the City’s legal department was using a spreadsheet document to manage their files. However, Joseph Szeman, the City’s Director of Law, said that this approach was no longer sufficient for the department’s evolving needs. He said, “Since we track multiple file types, we needed a program that could handle the different workflows and reports needed.”
The City’s legal department oversees multiple types of files including those involving tax collections, criminal matters, civil matters and contracts. Since this may involve collaboration with other City departments such as finance, engineering and planning, files are shared and assigned to those areas as the need arises.
Szeman said that Legal Files makes this collaboration easier and more efficient by providing portals for each department, ensuring convenient access to their respective files. “Legal Files’ ability to grant each department secure access to their assigned files has proven immensely beneficial,” he said. “Legal Files streamlines operations for both them and us, especially when working on shared files.”
